Memorial Service Held in Georgia for Former Wisconsin Conference President, Mike Edge

We are saddened to share the news that former Wisconsin Conference President, Mike Edge, passed away the morning of May 19, 20223, after a short battle with cancer. Elder Edge was a faithful follower of God and trusted in His timing and His plan. Throughout his illness, he and his family were at peace knowing that they were in God’s care and are looking forward to the resurrection day when there will be no more pain and no more tears.

Elder Edge served the Lord for 20 years in the Wisconsin Conference. He was President from 2010- 2020 and prior to that he served as the Conference Youth Director from 2001-2010. His life of ministry began at a young age serving in the Campus Ministries office at Walla Walla College, spending three summers as a camp counselor at Sunset Lake Camp in Washington and spending nine months as a student missionary in Korea teaching English and Bible. After graduating from Walla Walla College with a B.A. in Theology and a minor in Music, Mike went on to Andrews University where he earned his Masters of Divinity from the Adventist Theological Seminary. Following this he was called to serve in the Washington Conference as a pastor from 1980-1995, being ordained to the gospel ministry in 1985. In 1995 he was called to be the Youth Director for the Arkansas/Louisiana Conference before being called to the Indiana Conference as Youth Director the following year. He served in this capacity until he was called to Wisconsin in 2001. Over his years of service, Elder Edge touched countless lives and desired, more than anything else, to share Jesus with others.

The memorial service for Elder Mike Edge was held on Sabbath June 3, 2023, at the Calhoun Seventh-day Adventist Church in Georgia. The church sanctuary was filled with family and friends from all over the country including many pastors and leaders from across the Seventh-Day Adventist denomination. Memories were shared by friends and colleagues and family and friends joined together in singing melodies lifting thoughts to God’s faithfulness. The Calhoun Pathfinder club presented a Pathfinder flag in a special case to Elder Edge’s wife, Juanita, as a tribute to his support and involvement in Pathfinders over much of his life. The service concluded with the entire congregation singing the inspiring hymn, We Have This Hope. Although sadness filled hearts that Elder Edge had passed away too soon, a spirit of hope filled the service at the knowledge of the soon coming resurrection day when Jesus will come to take His children home.
