President’s Perspective: Why Are We Sitting Here Waiting to Die?

President’s Perspective: Why Are We Sitting Here Waiting to Die?

What do you do when you lose hope, and your life is falling apart? Just sitting and waiting for better circumstances in life is not enough.

The story recorded in 2 Kings 7 describes the desperate situation of four lepers who were in quarantine outside the city. With no resources for survival and in between belligerent camps, they managed not only to find food for their immediate needs but to become be part of a great abundance for the entire city.

Let’s consider several principles that can be helpful for us in similar circumstances.

First, they adopted the privilege of community. They stayed together, sharing the same misery, but they supported each other, having similar needs and desires.

Second, they considered the alternatives. They ended the pity party, and stopped criticizing everyone for their desperate condition. They wanted to do something out of desperation.

Third, they became part of a bigger plan not just for themselves but for their family members and friends. God was ready for a great miracle, and the four lepers were instrumental in executing that plan.

Do you feel that your life is falling apart? Do you find yourself with no resources, support, or positive perspectives?

You don’t need to sit and wait until you die. The ideal conditions may never happen. Let desperation become a life-changing instrument. Find others in a similar situation, consider impossible alternatives, and follow God’s direction in uncharted territories.

In conclusion, use your sorrow as an opportunity to bless others.
