Dr. Amir Gulzar Begins Role as Executive Secretary/Treasurer for the Wisconsin Conference

On July 1, 2023, Dr. Amir Gulzar began his ministry as the Executive Secretary/Treasurer for the Wisconsin Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. Dr. Gulzar grew up in Pakistan where he attended Seventh-day Adventist institutions of education earning B.B.A. degrees in both Marketing (1996) and Accounting (1997) from Pakistan Adventist Seminary. He went on to earn his Master of Business Administration degree from Philippine Christian University (2000) and his Ph.D. in International Finance from the Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies (2018).

Over his career, Dr. Gulzar has served in many capacities in educational institutions throughout the Adventist denomination. Between the years of 1996 – 2002, he served at Pakistan Adventist Seminary in the roles of Head of the Business Department, Instructor in the Business and Computer Science Department as well as Executive Director of the Community Learning Center. Following these appointments Dr. Gulzar moved to the Democratic Republic of Congo where he served at the Adventist University of Lukanga from 2003 – 2019. During his time there he served as a Lecturer and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Business and Computer Sciences, Project Manager for income-generating projects, and Head of the Business Department before becoming the Vice-Chancellor/President of the same institution.

In addition, Dr. Gulzar is a published author having written one book and numerous journal articles. He is fluent in English, French, Urdu and Punjabi. He also, on two different occasions, has attended the Institute of World Mission, located in Thailand.

In 2020, Dr. Gulzar was called to be the Business Manager at the Milwaukee Seventh-Day Adventist School, in Wisconsin, where he served until his recent call to be the Executive Secretary/Treasurer for the conference. The Milwaukee School has been blessed and the conference is grateful for his service there and looks forward to his ministry in this new role.

Dr. Gulzar and his wife, Shabnam, have three children, Nathan who is attending Andrews University and Nathalie and Natasha who are attending Wisconsin Academy.

During the recent Wisconsin camp meeting, Dr. Gulzar, and his family, were officially welcomed by the conference into his new position. The pictures below are from that event.
