On December 30, 2023, two precious individuals were baptized in the Janesville District. Pastor for the district, Abraham Swamidass, performed both baptisms and shared the following

Jess Stewart, new member of the Delavan Church 

Jess’s wife Linette writes,

“Jess and I recently celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary. For about 17 years of our marriage, I attended church with only our youngest daughter Katie. I would be sitting in church praying God would touch Jess’s heart. Jess’s family really didn’t participate in attending church regularly. Throughout our marriage I tried not to push my faith on Jess because I know that could have a negative result. In late 2011 Jess attended a prophecy seminar in our Rohnert Park Church in California presented by Marty Robbins, a teacher at Redwood Adventist Academy. After that Jess started attending church with me weekly, but baptism was never mentioned.

We retired and moved to Wisconsin in 2013 and he continued to attend the Delavan SDA Church with me. He recently decided to be baptized and Pastor Swamidass studied with him. I am grateful to our pastor and church family for all their prayers and encouragement. There were many years of praying on my part for Jess’s heart to be touched by God. Never give up on praying for those you love!”

Alex Messer, new member of the Beloit Church

Before baptism, Alex had been attending the Beloit Church with his Adventist mother, Sandra Messer and his brother, Travis. One Sabbath, Alex felt the Holy Spirit’s tug on his heart to surrender his life to Jesus in baptism and be saved. The very next day he called Pastor Swamidass to study with him and prepare him for baptism. Alex was baptized on December 30, 2023. He says, “I want to see my Savior, Jesus, when He returns! Then along with my family, I will spend eternity with Him.”
