Watertown Sentinel Pathfinder Club Raises $780 for Missions

Mission stories have a way of inspiring young people. At the start of the pandemic two years ago, the Watertown Sentinel Pathfinder club desired to do missionary work, just like in the stories, but was not sure how to go about it. Then an opportunity to give Bibles to a place in Africa happened, and the club members embraced the task of raising money to buy Bibles. They solicited donations from family, friends, and church members and raised hundreds of dollars to purchase more than 100 Bibles that were sent to Africa for evangelism.

Recently the club members were at it again. While doing a Pathfinder honor, one of the requirements asked the Pathfinders to fast for 24 hours. The money that would have been spent to buy food was to be given to some missionary project. The group chose to support ADRA and they invited the local Adventurer Club members to join them in the fast and raising money. The members of both groups gathered at the home of the Adventurer leader for a day of fasting, fellowship, and stories about mission work.  All had a great time. The icing on the cake, so to speak, came when the club members used their own Christmas gift money to increase the total already pledged by the church members. The total both clubs raised for missions came to $780.
