The Mind in You: A Women’s Ministries Retreat

Women's Ministries March 30, 2025

In today’s fast-paced world, where the demands of life often lead to stress, confusion, and overwhelm, it’s vital to find moments of peace, reflection, and renewal. Women, in particular, carry a unique blend of responsibilities—whether as mothers, daughters, professionals, or caregivers—and navigating these roles can sometimes leave little room for spiritual growth and self-care. The Spring Women’s retreat focused on cultivating the mind of Christ, offering a transformative experience that allowed attendees to discover the power of thinking like Christ in their daily lives.

The “Mind of Christ” is a powerful concept rooted in Scripture. In 1 Corinthians 2:16, the Apostle Paul writes, “But we have the mind of Christ.” This profound statement invites believers to understand that, through Christ, we have access to divine wisdom and insight. The mind of Christ is more than just knowledge; it encompasses His attitudes, perspectives, and responses to life’s challenges. It is about thinking with a heart of love, grace, humility, and truth. The mind of Christ empowers us to approach the world not with our own limited understanding but with a perspective grounded in God’s will.

The retreat was not just about a weekend getaway. Camp Wakonda provided a sacred space for women to grow deeper in their faith, shed the weight of everyday worries, and be reminded of their identity in Christ. Throughout the retreat, our guest speaker, Dr. Angeline D. Brauer, Health Ministries Director at the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists, guided women to explore how adopting the mind of Christ transforms their relationships, decisions, and overall outlook on life.

Women returned home with renewed minds, filled with the peace that surpasses all understanding. The hope is that this transformation will carry over into their everyday lives, empowering them to tackle challenges with a Christ-centered mindset. Through these retreats, women can build lasting friendships with others on the same path, fostering a community of support and accountability. The teachings and experiences gained during the retreat will continue to resonate in their hearts long after they return to their everyday lives, guiding them toward the abundant life Christ promised.

In the end, embracing the mind of Christ is not just about being a better person—it’s about reflecting Christ to a world that desperately needs His love, peace, and grace.
