There was a lot of travel happening this month at Wisconsin Academy! We started the month with student leaders heading to Camp Au Sable in Michigan for the Lake Union Leadership Camp. This is a great time for students to continue building their personal leadership skills while meeting youth from other schools and growing new relationships. This year’s theme was “This One Thing” from Philippians 3:14 which reads, “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” Reminding us to keep our focus on the call God has for us and away from the distractions of the world.

Next, Freshmen and Sophomores from Wisconsin Academy as well as 7th and 8th graders from around the conference gathered together at Camp Wakonda for a program called LIFT (Lifestyle Improvement for Teens). This year we were blessed with a personal testimony from Thomas Meadows, the speaker for the event. The students were able to participate in breakout sessions of pizza making, self-defense, the truth about truth, and resume writing to name only a few. It was a blessing to see so many of our youth in one place, playing games, learning, and working on service projects. Mahalia Rittenhouse, a sophomore here at Wisconsin Academy and pastor of her class gave the worship thought on Friday morning and described that experience as “really positive.”

While the Freshmen and Sophomores were away at LIFT, the Juniors and Seniors had some fun of their own on a field trip to the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, IL.

Our annual Fall Festival was held on October 22nd. Students worked hard on decorating their booths and transforming the gym into a beautiful fall scape. Some of the more popular booths included the Senior’s Dunk Tank, where students could attempt to send staff (and even a few parents) splashing down into the cold water of the tank. The Juniors Car Smash and Apple Cannon were another smashing hit at the event. All classes provided delicious food and drinks. Attendance from the community was high and all the classes were able to have fun and raise money.

The month ended with the annual Ring Fest which took our bell choir to Toledo, OH. With over 1,000 bells present it’s an experience worth hearing. All students are back on campus now attending to studies and the first student led Week of Prayer for the year. We ask that you continue to pray for guidance for our students and staff.
