Jim Johnson, with his adoring dog Daffy

It is with sadness that we share the news that Jim Johnson, former Ranger at Camp Wakonda, passed away unexpectedly this past Tuesday, November 28, 2023. Family and friends have come together in support for his wife Linda and their family.

Jim served in the Wisconsin Conference as Camp Ranger at Camp Wakonda from 1994-2013. Linda served along side him in this role. Jim also served as a construction worker for the Wisconsin Conference from 1967-1972. In between these years, Jim served as Caretaker at Camp Au Sable in the Michigan Conference from 1976-1984.

His life of service to God and man is a blessing and inspiration to all who knew him. Please join us in praying for the Johnson family during this difficult time.

Services will be held Sunday, December 3, at 11:00am ET (10:00am CT) at the Cedar Lake Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Cedar Lake, MI. Services will be live streamed on the church website and Facebook page at the links below.
