Editor’s Note: Cast Your Cares Upon Him

Editor’s Note: Cast Your Cares Upon Him

When my daughter was little, she loved to be helpful. One day while unloading groceries from the car, she picked up a bag that was too heavy for her.

“Are you sure you’ve got it?” I asked.

“Yes,” she said confidently. But after a few steps with it she began to struggle and said, “Mom I need help!” I quickly lifted the bag from her arms.

Someone bigger than you and I, our Heavenly Father, wants to do that for us.

God wants us to cast all of our cares upon Him (1 Peter 5:7) He asks us to give Him our heavy load: our worries, our fears, our problems. He wants to carry them for us because He loves us.

When we cast our cares upon God, we are letting go of them and saying, “I trust you.”

One thing my daughter didn’t do was ask me to give her back he heavy load. Once I took it off her hands she was done with it!

Cast your cares upon God. Trust Him with what concerns you. And don’t pick it up again.
