Spring Volunteer Lay Pastor Training

Ministerial June 18, 2026

Twenty lay pastors from around the state gathered at the conference office May 15–17 for their spring training. The two themes covered during the weekend were Church Growth and Theology. Three presenters—Pastors Myoung Kwon, Tim Kwon, and Cid Leopoldino—shared on these important topics.

On Friday evening, Pastor Myoung Kwon of Waukesha Community Church presented on church attendance retention through the application of intergenerational ministry. This approach helps foster the spiritual and relational growth of church families and strengthens the church community.

The following day, the lay pastors spent the entire day learning from Pastor Tim Kwon of Madison East Church on the topic, “The Commandments of God and the Faith of Jesus.” Throughout the day, participants were deeply engaged with the Word of God and interacted enthusiastically with the presenter. The thorough theological study provided a deeper understanding of God’s grace and His love.

Pastor Cid Leopoldino of Milwaukee Northwest Church also serves as the leader of the Center of Influence project in Milwaukee. Drawing on his experience and expertise, Pastor Cid presented on Sunday about effective church growth. His presentation, titled “A Church on Mission,” explored both the principles of church growth and practical methods for implementing them in local congregations.

The next Volunteer Lay Pastor training will take place November 6–8 and will focus on Spiritual Life and Practical Ministry. If the Holy Spirit is inviting you to become a lay pastor, please speak with your local church pastor.
