President's Monthly Update: November 2024

Presidential October 31, 2024

In the month of October the Board of Education convened to deliberate and vote on crucial elements of Wisconsin’s educational system. In addition to regular presentations, Wisconsin Academy reported an initial enrollment of 69 students for the academic year. A new Wisconsin Conference Teacher Handbook is currently under development and is expected to be finalized soon.

The Northern District Sabbath enabled churches in the northern part of the state to gather for worship and fellowship. Dr. Rodney Palmer, Chair of the Department of Religion and Biblical Languages at Andrews University, was the guest speaker and delivered three messages focusing on recommitting to God and discipleship practices. Dr. Amir Gulzar and I presented the state of the Conference and invited church members to support Wisconsin Academy by contributing to the new Endowment Fund. The scheduled guest speaker for next year is Dr. Joe Kidder from Andrews University.

Dr. John Wesley Taylor III, the president of Andrews University, has reported to the AU Board of Trustees a total enrollment of 3,021 on-campus students, indicating a 2 percent increase compared to the previous year. The graduate student population has experienced a 4 percent growth. Furthermore, the Theological Seminary has recorded an enrollment of 920 students, which reflects a notable 7 percent increase. The total enrollment, encompassing both distance and off-campus students, is 4,586 individuals.

As a reminder, there is an opportunity to request $3,000 from the North American Division to support an outreach event as part of Pentecost 2025. This offer is open to churches, companies, groups, and even schools. It is strongly recommended that we take advantage of this funding and seek an opportunity to share the message of faith. Embracing this opportunity aligns with our purpose of spreading the Gospel.

Understandably, some may be concerned about the outcome of their efforts. However, it is essential to remember that the responsibility of converting and transforming lives rests with the Holy Spirit. We have to endeavor and remain steadfast in our calling earnestly.

“He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it Thessalonians 5:24 (NKJV). God will make this happen. He is the One who called you to be dependable. If He said it, He will do it.

I extend my gratitude to all of you in the name of the Lord, who guides our ministries in Wisconsin.

Titus Naftanaila, president
