I’ve had the privilege to be present for many events over the past number of weeks:
AdventHealth Durand reported exceptional income due to the increased services it provides to its communities. The local newspaper featured a report on the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Ambulance/MRI garage, which took place on May 13, 2024. The $916,000 project was completed within budget and ahead of schedule. AdventHealth’s theme for 2024 is “Lighting the Way,” and its mission is “Extending the healing ministry of Jesus.”
The Andrews University Board of Trustees recently held a two-day meeting focusing on strategic planning and the practical steps needed to support the university’s growth. The board members also received valuable training on fiduciary oversight, gaining insights into the differences between governance and administration, educational quality and faithfulness, and academic freedom and tenure. The regular board followed the first session, where regular business was conducted.
Our recent camp meeting has concluded, and the administrative team has dedicated time to assess its outcomes and put forth recommendations for future events. I sincerely appreciate the participation of all individuals involved and their significant contributions to the event’s success. We have confirmed the key speakers for the upcoming year, including Dr. John Wesley Taylor, the newly appointed President of Andrews University, Lee Venden, and Dr. Tim Madding, the new Director of North American Division Evangelism Institute (NAEDI). Additionally, we are in the process of inviting several other distinguished speakers to join the lineup.
I had the honor of delivering a devotional speech at the 20th Anniversary of the 2024 WA Cruising 4 Christ Bike Rally. This annual event, spearheaded by Dale and Robin Ondrejka, brings the community of Adventist bikers together to raise funds for Wisconsin Academy. Despite not having a motorcycle, I was graciously offered a ride by Sheldon Johnson in the afternoon. This year, the event managed to raise a total of $3,140. I express my heartfelt thanks to the entire group for their unwavering dedication and support for Wisconsin Academy. Praise be to God for the success of this meaningful endeavor.
On Sabbath (July 27), Rozina and I were honored to participate in the Hispanic camp meeting at Camp Wakonda. We sincerely appreciated the enriching messages and the uplifting music concert that followed a baptism at Sandow Lake. It was a pleasure to have Elder Ken Denslow, the LUC President, in attendance and to deliver a message in Spanish at the baptism ceremony. I thank Pastor Evelio Miranda, the Hispanic Ministry Coordinator, and all the pastors and local leaders involved. This year, under the leadership of Youth Director Zack Payne, the Wakonda Staff provided valuable support for the Hispanic meeting, offering a wide array of programs.
Our pastors and church leaders are strongly encouraged to ensure that their churches are registered for the forthcoming “The Pentecost 2025” initiative. They will be part of over 3,000 churches hosting evangelistic series from September 6-20, 2025. Each outreach program necessitates a minimum of 15 sessions, with a requirement of at least 5 public preaching meetings. Each church, company, or group will be eligible to receive up to $3,000 from the NAD to support their participation.
Thank you to all church members and guests for your personal involvement in your local community, church, or school. Your unique role and positive influence are truly making a difference in the lives of others.
And also I pray “that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.” 3 John 2.
