President’s Monthly Update September 2022

President’s Monthly Update September 2022

August was a “back-to-normal” month regarding committees and events related to our churches and schools.

All our teachers had two-day meetings at the conference office to prepare for the new school year. We welcomed the new ones who joined our conference this year and already missed those who moved into new mission fields.

The Board of Trustees of Andrews University selected the 13-member Presidential Search Committee to nominate the next president of Andrews University. Current president, Dr. Andrea Luxton, will end her term at the end of this academic year.

Hispanic Camp Meeting is reported as being the best ever. Pastor Roger Hernandez was the main speaker. He has also been invited to present a Marriage Enrichment seminar at our 2023 camp meeting.

I had the privilege to graduate from Andrews University. Now I have more time to focus on learning Spanish. My goal is to be fluent in the next few years. Mas Rapido!

Wisconsin Academy reported the enrolment of 69 students at the beginning of the academic year. We continue to pray for the staff and students.

With pastor Adam Case, we introduced pastor Drew Weaver to the Marshfield District. We were happy to see God’s leading. He had already accepted the call and moved his family to Wisconsin.

I attended the President’s/Officer’s retreat organized and supported by the Lake Union with my wife, Rozina. This was an excellent time for fellowship and spiritual renewal opportunities.

The Executive Committee voted on a great plan to bring some facility improvements to Camp Wakonda. Permanent buildings for the children-youth divisions, remodeled medical buildings and bathrooms. Other necessary projects were voted. Maranatha and Wisconsin volunteers are welcome!

I had the privilege to worship with our church family in Shawano. A friendly church and mission oriented.

The Hmong Company had another successful camp meeting. As pastor Chanchai reported, a number of seven precious people were added to their membership.

As a member of the Board of Trustees, I attended the Mission Conference organized by AdventHealth focused on the theme “Guided by Purpose.” Stories, reports, and testimonies inspired all participants to contribute to the “Wholeness Model” in our communities.

Summer is almost over, but we are ready for Fall activities and mission projects in our churches and schools. I invite you to allow God to use your spiritual gifts for His glory and the edification of His church.

Titus Naftanaila, President
