Birds have a friend in Antigo, Wisconsin. That friend is the Raptor Education Group Inc. (REGI).
Founded over 50 years ago by Margie Gibson, REGI opens its doors to hundreds of sick or injured birds every year and nurtures them back to health. Often there are 15 to 20 eagles in different phases of recovery at any given time.
Eagles, hawks, and owls are not the only patients under the care of Gibson and her group of veterinarians and college graduates who share her same love for outdoor life. They take in and care for a variety of birds.
Students from Petersen Adventist School recently visited the REGI facility on a field trip and learned a lot from Gibson. Being able to get in so close to the birds and see the thankfulness they express makes you realize there is a creator who loves and cares for all of us, feathered friends included!
