Fond du Lac Church Joins Police Department in Serving Those in Need

During the Holiday season in 2022, the Fond du Lac Seventh-Day Adventist Church did something a little different. Upon the request of Pastor Carlos Ancheta they voted to give to low income families through the school system in Fond du Lac, WI. Every year, as the holidays approach, the Fond du Lac Police Department hosts a drive to collect toys and food for those in need in their community. They also work with the school system to identify families that may need assistance. By contacting the School Resource Officer, the Fond du Lac church was able to get names of the families in the program that were in need. The church voted to give five of these families $100 gift card from the local Walmart.

On December 22, 2022, Pastor Ancheta and church member, Vickie Mally, went to the Fond du Lac Police Department and help with the packing of groceries, while other members and staff helped with the packing and sorting of the toys that were to be delivered to over 75 families in the community. When all was completed, Pastor Ancheta joined the School Resource Officer, Jesse Pimental and his assistant, to deliver the food, toys and gift cards to the five families the church had selected. It was a blessing to those who received the gifts!

An added blessing for Pastor Ancheta was that he was able to get on the list to be a Police chaplain for the Fond du Lac Police Department. Soon he will help minister to those in need at the police department whenever needed on Sundays.
