On August 29, Praise in the Valley held their 18th annual country gospel concert on a beautiful natural hillside amphitheater in the Hylandale church yard near Rockland, Wisconsin. People from far and near came to enjoy the musical groups Bluegrass Blondies, The Roller Family, Mark Ringwelski, Kathy Flock, and Terry, Carol, & Friends. Besides the music, there were refreshments, roasted corn on the cob, and a good supply of literature and Bibles to be had for free. While several people expressed how much they appreciated this event, one man we met through the ministry of Praise in the Valley expressed his interest in receiving Bible Studies. Praise the Lord!
A hard working beautiful team of people from the Hylandale church organize this event for the last Sunday of August each year. They invite local gospel singers as well as professionals such as The King’s Heralds, Joe Pearles, Jeff Pearls, and others often seen on 3ABN.
This concept of holding a Gaither type songfest was conceived in the fall of 2002. Duane Bennett, member of the Hylandale Adventist Church, drove by a large concert being advertised as “Rocking the Ridge,” featuring several rock-and-roll groups. As he drove by he was impressed with the Bible text, “overcome evil with good.” He thought, “If they are going to “Rock the Ridge, we need to have “Praise in the Valley.” A few invitations were sent out for Christian groups to come and share music, and here we are 18 year later, still holding this annual concert to express our love for God in music to our friends and neighbors. We welcome you to join us for the next Praise in the Valley Concert coming in August of 2022!
