El 29 de septiembre, el Seminario Laico Adventista (SAL) inició la primera clase del curso de Administración de Iglesias. El Pastor Roger Hernández abrió la clase con el tema “El Líder y el Control Propio,” enfatizando la importancia de lograr un buen dominio propio, y así dirigir más efectivamente a la iglesia y a sus departamentos. El orador también destacó el papel que juega el descanso, la dieta y el estrés en el dominio propio.
El Pastor Hernández recalcó la importancia de la oración, la asistencia a la iglesia y la meditación de la Biblia como hábitos fundamentales en la vida de un líder. Además, mostró un estudio realizado en la Universidad Harvard en el 2016 que respaldan estas afirmaciones, incluso entre ateos. El orador también compartió secretos para lograr un liderazgo efectivo, alcanzando a la generación milenaria y a la generación Z, a través de las redes sociales y tecnologías emergentes.
Los temas abordados fueron interesantes y dinámicos, por lo cual, el tiempo se fue volando. Al terminar la clase, cada estudiante salió con el deseo de cumplir el reto de ser un líder más exitoso para la obra de Cristo.

What we have learned in the first SAL class

On September 29, the Adventist Lay Seminary began its first class on the topic of Church Administration. Pastor Roger Hernández opened the class with the subject “The Leader and Self-Control,” emphasizing the importance of achieving self-control in directing the church and its departments more effectively. He also explained the role that rest, diet and stress play in self-control.
Pastor Hernandez highlighted the significance of prayer, church attendance and Bible meditation as fundamental habits in the life of a leader. In addition, he presented a study conducted at Harvard University in 2016, which supports these claims, even among atheists. He also shared secrets for achieving a successful leadership in reaching millennials and generation Z, through social networks and emerging technologies.
The topics discussed were very interesting and dynamic. By the end of class, each student took on the challenge of becoming a more effective leader for the work of Christ.
