Hillside Christian School Reaches Out

Education November 14, 2025

Students from Hillside Christian School, led by teacher Charlyn Marsh, rolled up their sleeves and grabbed their rakes to take part in Make a Difference Day, an annual event organized by the nonprofit United Way. This special event encourages volunteers to serve their community, and Hillside was proud to be part of it once again.

The group spent the afternoon raking leaves for a local homeowner who was unable to do the yard work themselves. It turned out to be quite a big job—the yard was large, the wind was strong, and a little rain even made an appearance. Despite the challenging conditions, everyone kept smiling and worked hard until the job was done.

The homeowner was deeply appreciative of the help and even treated the students to homemade cookies as a thank-you for their efforts. Through this project, Mrs. Marsh and her students demonstrated Hillside’s commitment to service, teamwork, and showing Christ’s love in action. Their hard work truly made a difference—not just in one yard, but in the heart of the community.
