On Sabbath November 9, 2024 – 41 participants, including 11 men and 1 pastor, met at Camp Wakonda to spend time reflecting on our prophet, Ellen G. White’s writing on her health vision. The event was a joint meeting for Health and Prayer Ministries in our conference and the attendees represented 18 of our Wisconsin Seventh-day Adventist churches.
On page 24 of the book Medical Ministry Ellen White states, “The principles of health reform are found in the Word of God. The Gospel of health is to be firmly linked with the ministry of the Word. It is the Lord’s design that the restoring influence of health reform shall be a part of the last great effort to proclaim the gospel message.”
During the meeting Yin Schaff, Health Ministries Coordinator, reminded the group that there must a blend between health and gospel ministries; this cannot be separated. Lesa Budd, Prayer Ministries Coordinator shared that we must pray liked Nehemiah, pray for each other, and make every effort to keep the unity of the spirit through the bond of peace so Jesus can come.
At the end of this special Sabbath, participants were inspired and their enthusiasm was palpable. God will strengthen those ties that bind us together as the Wisconsin Conference Seventh-day Adventist community of faith, united in purpose and mission, raising the Right Arm of the Gospel.
