Health Ministries September 4, 2024

HEALTH and PRAYER SABBATH, November 9, 2024

Wisconsin Conference Health Ministries is joining with Prayer Ministries to host “THE DAY” at Camp Wakonda on November 9, 2024 from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm for a Health and Prayer Sabbath together. We invite and encourage the pastors to work in tandem with Health & Prayer Ministries to send their local health and prayer ministry leaders to attend this special Sabbath together. It is our desire to help effectively proclaim the Three Angels’ message with power and strength.

All Wisconsin Conference Prayer Coordinators & Health Ministry Leaders (and any & all interested persons) are invited to spend the day in worship, learning, prayer and fellowship together.

Today is THE DAY we can no longer be silent and do nothing! Why?

According to Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, in 2023 much was learned about the state of health in America: (1) The U.S. life expectancy has declined significantly… to the lowest level in more than 20 years; (2) Cancer diagnoses are on the rise among adults younger than 50; (3) Obesity related death is on the rise, especially among African Americans; (4) Obesity now impacts one in five children in the United States. 1

Consuming an unhealthy diet is a top contributor to early death and loss of healthy years in far too many people no matter their age group. Change is both possible and necessary. Being healthy isn’t just about physical fitness but also includes taking care of our social, mental and spiritual condition as well. Everyone desires to have good health. The Seventh-day Adventist Church has long promoted a message of healthful living. During HIS time on earth, Jesus was a great teacher and preacher. But HE was also a healer. In fact, Jesus spent more time restoring people’s health than he did preaching. He declared that He had come so people could have a full, abundant life (John 10:10) and He showed that health was an important part of living abundantly.

You were created to live an abundant life! The best approach to health includes not only diet and exercise, but also unexpected elements such as friendship, prayer, optimism, and time in nature.

Join us on Sabbath, November 9 at Camp Wakonda, as we look to develop a united team between Health and Prayer Ministries for your local church to be able to reach your community’s needs through our health message!

Please RSVP to Lesa Budd: 920-210-5525 (Leave a message, how many coming & name and cell number.)

Schedule for “THE DAY”: Sabbath, November 9, 2024

  • 10:00 am – Joint Meeting
  • 12:15 pm – Healthful Lunch
  • Afternoon activity – may go out walking.
  • Separate learning session for both Health and Prayer Ministries.
  • Closing the Sabbath with sundown worship plus soup & sandwiches before heading home!

We believe God is calling us for such a time as this. If the health message is the right arm of the gospel, prayer to our Heavenly Father is what shall give it power.

Ministry Perspective: “Those who are willing to inform themselves concerning the effects of sinful indulgences upon the health, and who commence the work of reform, even if it be from selfish motives, in so doing place themselves where the truth of God may find access to their hearts.” Testimonies for the Church Vol.4, p. 553.

We Stand United~
