Hallelujah Hustle: Registration Opens February 5

Can you believe it? We are already preparing for the Hallelujah Hustle this summer! We are SUPER excited to be making arrangements and plans for our event this year. Thanks again to everyone who has participated and supported the event for so many years.

Keeping with tradition, the 5k Run/Walk will take place the first Sunday of camp meeting, June 18, 2023, at 7:40am, beginning at the ballfield at Camp Wakonda.

We have a few announcements:

(1) A portion of our 2023 race proceeds will be designated for Camp Wakonda, with a slight change. Rather than giving our usual donation to the Worthy Camper fund at Camp Wakonda, we have decided to allow Wakonda to use their discretion on where funds are most needed. This could include the current “Building Our Future” campaign, which is focused on making needed improvements to the camp facility, but would not exclude benefitting the Worthy Camper fund.

Race proceeds will also benefit the Care & Share Food Bank of Marquette County. Care & Share serves the communities around Camp Wakonda by providing safe and nutritious food to individuals and families in need, and aims to eliminate food insecurity in Marquette County.

(2) Everything has been affected by inflation – including all the vendors and resources we use in hosting the race. We’ve been trying to hold out on raising prices, but we see the need to finally do so: both to ensure that costs are covered, and to ensure that our race beneficiaries receive a donation that is sizable enough to make a difference. The new registration fee will be $30 per participant, which includes race T-shirt, bib with timing chip, and access to verified race times on race day. Registration opens February 5!

Early-bird fee is $25 if you register by April 30, 2023. Register by May 22 to guarantee your preferred t-shirt size; later registrants may not receive the size of their choice, based on supply.

(3) We are actively looking for volunteers! Areas for all interest levels: registration, cheerleading, setting up the course, and photography. If interested, let us know at hallelujahhustle.com! (click on the Volunteers tab) The bonus of volunteering? A rad t-shirt, and maybe some cowbell ringing!
