Fear Not, Be Strong and Courageous

What a day! Or better yet…What day is it?

I have had to ask myself that a few times this week, as I’m sure many of you have.

I know that for me I would normally be out visiting schools and sharing about the amazing things that camp is planning this year, however, I am now left praying fervently daily for the Lord to place his healing hands on not just the world, but on people. People we know, and people we don’t know. I find myself now praying for my PODUS, the doctors working in the front lines, the elderly that cannot get things that they need, my own parents and grandparents, and the list can go on. I have found myself wondering if I am doing all I can to cry out to the heavens and give our amazing God full permission to work in people’s lives, because after all he does not force his way in to anyone’s heart, or situation. I find myself wondering many things that I did not before. I don’t share this to incite fear or hysteria in any way, but to share that I am human and have many of the same thoughts that you do, and you know what, it’s okay. It’s okay to have a little anxiety, a little unease, and just plain wonder about what lies ahead. It’s okay to have emotions and feel. However, through our emotions we are called to look to and trust in a God who has everything under control to fulfill His greater purpose. We are told in Joshua 1:6 to not fear, and to be strong and courageous. Then we are told a few verses later to be strong and very courageous! We have a God who is in control no matter the situation!

So with that being said, we are still planning for summer camp at Camp Wakonda! We are still planning all of our other youth events, and we are still doing our best to work to provide opportunities for you, your family, and your friends to experience Jesus in some way! We have an altered schedule due to the current situation and Safer at Home order, but we are not stopping to plan from the safety of our homes!

Some of the new things we are doing now with the order to stay home is using technology more that we have in the past.

*We are now broadcasting on FB live every morning for Pathfinders with a morning devotional at 9:30 am!

*We have multiple videos coming out per week talking about Pathfinders and Camp Wakonda!

*And we are starting a new Media Ministry called 3am! You can watch it via the Youth Department FB page or our YouTube channel! We are exploring 3 questions! “Where is Jesus?”  “Where am I?” and “Whats the point?” Join Pastor Stephen Hall and myself every Wednesday and Friday at 5:00 pm for our latest discussion!

No matter what we are facing we have a good God who does not live in fear, but in courage!

I hope you live in courage each and every day!

Do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions, need to chat, or need a listening ear!

We are here to serve!
