Petersen Students Create 42 Comfort Bundles for Refugee Children

Students at Petersen were concerned when hearing about the large refugee population that would be making the transition to life in Wisconsin. After hearing and seeing some of the news reports depicting families leaving with almost nothing, concern for the newly displaced children developed into a Bible outreach project. Students at Petersen decided to create “comfort bundles.” A small “lovey” sized blanket from soft fleece bundled around a small stuffed animal puppy (attached to a key-ring) to make it easy to attach and bring along as the families work towards settling into a more permanent living situation.

Thanks to the donations of several very generous school supporters, the class was able to create 42 comfort bundles to send to Fort McCoy for the displaced children.
