Otter Creek Students Learn by Doing

Students at Otter Creek Christian School learn in a variety of experiential ways with their teacher, Daisy Nieman. Some methods include:

1. Making paper plate mouths with teeth to learn about brushing and flossing
2. Testing eye movement, muscle reflexes and other automatic responses by holding syranwap in front of their faces while another student throws cotton balls
3. Students made bean bags to toss through hoops, which they use at the end of recess and find after a few tosses, they’re lead right back into the school house to restart classes
4. Making quilt squares and learning to sew them into quilts
5. How to make applesauce
