Join “Run for Kosrae,” A 5K Run/Walk at Wisconsin Academy

Wisconsin Academy invites you to join us in “Run for Kosrae,” a 5-kilometer walk/run to raise money for the Lake Union’s island mission project in Micronesia. Our Lake Union goal is to raise $75,000 for this project, and Hope for Humanity has offered to match those dollars up to $75,000. That would bring the total raised to $150,000.

Each Union in the North American Division has “adopted” an island in Micronesia. Kosrae is a very poor island, but has an Adventist school there in need. With an island population of about 6,600 people and 42 miles of land, the Kosrae School, grades K-8 with about 60 students, is the only private school on the island. Building a gym will create a center on the island where the students and community can come for recreational and social activities, make relationships with the Adventists, and have an opportunity to learn about Jesus love and the Three Angels Messages. Learn more about this Kosrae mission HERE.

Our “run” is scheduled for Sunday at 10:00 am, September 15, beginning at the men’s dorm parking lot. There are many ways you can be a part of this mission project. Running/walking, sponsoring a runner, and praying for the wonderful people in Kosrae. We are inviting all conference churches and schools to be a part of this fun day. There will be four runs in the Lake Union. Please come and be a part of an incredible mission opportunity. Contact Rosalie Rasmussen (989-763-4826) or Jenny Britain for further details.
