Hillside Christian School’s Prayer Ministry

Every morning, Hillside students are praying for cities in the North American Division that have a population of 1,000,000 or larger. We pray specifically for their leaders, missionaries, families, and marriages, their health, education, the homeless, and that everyone in the city will come to know Jesus.

It all began when Mrs. Sachse came to school to tell us about the program she heard about at camp meeting. She gave each of us a pamphlet with a map of all the divisions of the General Conference. Cities of 1,000,000+ are listed for each division. We decided to start praying for cities in the North American Division. When we finish that, we will begin another division.

Focusing our prayers on others has enriched our prayer time at school. Each morning every student prays for a different aspect of the city for that day. “I like that we are all praying for the same thing,” said Emy.

It is also an opportunity for us to study geography as we look on an atlas to see where each city is located.
