Friday Evening in the Wisconsin Academy Men’s Dorm

Last Friday evening after Vespers, I spent some time relaxing and enjoying a typical Sabbath evening with the men in the men’s dorm. One group of guys gathered around the fireplace to play and sing praise together. Song after song filled the lobby and drifted down the halls – “My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness”, “Lord, I need You, oh, I need You. Every hour I need You”, “I’m coming back to the heart of worship, and it’s all about You. It’s all about You, Jesus.” Another group gathered around a large central table to put together a 1000-peice puzzle depicting the gardens of Windsor Castle. They were successful in completing over half the puzzle that evening, and are continuing to work on it when they have time.  Others enjoyed singing and playing the piano in the chapel, talking on the lobby phones with parents and friends. I was reminded of the opening words of Psalm 133: “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity.” Thank you for all you do to make this experience a reality for so many young people.
