Update on Adventist Elementary Education in Wisconsin

Wisconsin Conference has 11 schools that have opened in person for the 2021-2022 school year. Teachers are working hard to follow local mandates and keep our schools open. For some that means wearing masks all day, except when students go outside.  As I travel around to visit the various schools I see the students outside playing kickball, baseball, soccer, flag football, and just having fun being outside. I especially love playing kickball .

One day I visited the Milwaukee South campus.  The students were playing kickball and I joined them. It was a blast, especially when some of the students challenged me that I could not get them out. I did not get them out that day, but I told them I would be back. The students in our conference are great!

Last week I stopped by the Petersen Adventist School for a visit and got to experience a great S.E.E. activity (Students Engaging for Eternity). Older students were cutting pieces of fleece in the morning. Later in the afternoon all the students gathered and worked in teams to make tie blankets with a little stuffed animal. The teachers informed me these were comfort blankets and would be given to the Afghan refugees. It was a fun and easy project, and a great way for students to do something meaningful for others. Thank you Petersen teachers and students for being a light in your community and state.
