Artwork for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day by Maranatha Elementary Students

Students at Maranatha Seventh-day Adventist Elementary school celebrated Martin Luther King, Jr. Day with a week long integrated theme of the civil rights movement and understanding Reverend King’s role and how he helped effect change. We included a mixed media portrait project throughout our week (see pictures below). To finish the project, the students chose some of Reverend King’s words that stuck with them and made them into speech bubbles to add to their projects.
