How you start your morning can set the tone for your entire day. Ellen White says in her book, A Call to Stand Apart p. 9, “The early morning often found Him (Jesus) in some secluded place, meditating, searching the Scriptures, or in prayer. From these quiet hours He would return to His home to take up His duties again…” Here are some suggestions to help you create a more peaceful and productive morning routine.*
-Start your morning with gratitude. Thank God for another day of life and for everything else you can think of. Then make your bed.
-Don’t check your phone. Don;t even touch your phone. Don’t get on the computer. Don’t turn on the TV. Avoid all news
-Go outside. Go for a walk or a run or whatever kind of exercise you like. Tend to your garden…
-Spend a few minutes reading your Bible. Spend a few minutes in prayer. Spend a few minutes meditating…
-Journal. Write down three things you are thankful for. Write down your thoughts. your prayer requests, your affirmations, your three highest priorities for the day.
-Hug and kiss your loved ones. Tell them how much you love them and why. And tell yourself, “This is going to be a great day.”
“Every morning take time to begin your work with prayer. Do not think this wasted time; it is time that will live through eternal ages.” Prayer p. 26
