Chippewa's Mountain of Miracles VBS

Children's Ministries September 5, 2025

At the Chippewa Valley Seventh-day Adventist Church during the week of July 21–25, the Mountain of Miracles VBS was in full swing—and it was hard to tell who enjoyed it more. Was it the 24 children attending, the 10 teen helpers, the 35 adults directing the event, or the young pastor himself, leading the way in his backpack, safari hat, and bright red t-shirt?

The daily schedule was meticulously planned. After registration, the kids gathered in Jezreal Valley inside the sanctuary. Songs with lively motions were sung, and the Bible verse for the day (Isaiah 41:10) was taught. Groups then followed team leaders to one of five locations: crawling through tunnels to play games at Raven’s Roost; praying under a mist-sprayed waterfall at Altar Alcove; watching the Bible story at Prophets Peak; crafting at Mt. Carmel Crafts; and enjoying snacks at Manna Munchies near the kitchen. Everyone then returned to Jezreel Valley to sing, review the lesson, and pray.

Each location was thoughtfully prepared. The facilities crew spent hours creating an imaginative setting, while leaders—having participated in meetings, planning, and prayers—were ready to guide the “mountain hikers.” The event was carefully overseen by a dedicated security team.

As the story of Elijah was told and retold, the key takeaway was clear: “God’s love is rock solid.” By the final presentation on Sabbath, July 26, the church’s commitment to each other, their children, and the community was just as solid.
