The Christmas Joy event at the Chippewa Valley SDA Church in Altoona turned out to be even more joyful than anticipated! Organized by the Community Outreach Ministry, the event aimed to bless 13 families, nominated by church members. These families were contacted to learn how we could bring them joy with special Christmas gifts. Each family was sponsored by a church member who took their wish list and made it a reality. The local community also generously responded to notes left on their doors, donating items that were later collected by church members.
On December 20th, the families gathered at the church to receive their gifts. In addition to the blessings, there were opportunities for fun activities—crafts, games, and snacks. A special highlight was the Holiday Photo Booth, where families could capture a special holiday portrait together. The event also featured tables filled with quilts and games available for families to take home, live music to uplift the spirit, and a dedicated Prayer Booth for personal prayer requests.
So, how successful was this event? The 8:00 PM departure time arrived all too soon—not only for the children who didn’t want the fun to end, but also for the many kind-hearted and generous church members whose efforts made this beautiful event such a blessing.
