The book of James tells us that we do not have things because we do not ask, and if there is one thing I have learned, it is that the Bible is right. We serve a God who is not that hard to find, who is deeply in love with us, and who has proven that he will give anything to be with us. When you look around Camp Wakonda you can really see proof of that. As you walk along the paths between the Fireside lodge and Administration Row, or as you enter the tunnel to the wild side, you can feel the presence of a Savior that loves His people! We have amazing volunteers that come and sacrifice so much to ensure we have a place to be proud of, and I hope that you as a reader of this article are just that, proud of what the Lord has given us! With all that we have on or around campus we are still in need and are doing our best to be good stewards of what we have been given.
As Camp Director, and a servant to the church, I am asking for your assistance. Currently we have three trucks that are in dire need of retirement. We have been keeping them running for a while by God’s grace and your help, whether financial or your personal time spent working on them.
We are currently looking to acquire by donation, or by paying a discounted price for your old (but still good) trucks for use around the camp. We are looking for a truck that is in good running order and road worthy. We are also looking for a new/used truck for the Camp Ranger. His workload requires a good ¾ ton – 1-ton long bed, four-wheel drive extended cab pick-up truck.
If you have any vehicles that you are looking to part with please contact me, Pastor Eric Chavez, Camp Director, to determine how we can work together in our camp ministry. I know that the Lord has the right vehicles out there for us and He never fails to provide for His people, or His facilities that are dedicated to showing how good He is!
If you have any questions or would like to chat about how we can serve a great God together never hesitate to contact me!
Blessings, today and always!
Pastor Eric
