Wisconsin ACS Volunteers Work to Fill Mask Needs

Various Wisconsin Adventist Community Service (ACS) volunteers are making much needed tie and elastic strapped masks for facilities and individuals.. Recently they sent over 100 tie masks to a very grateful nursing home in Madison, Wisconsin.

Community Services has also been asked to make masks for a 300-bed facility in Pennsylvania who has experienced 38 deaths due to the virus thus far. This facility just cannot seem to get and keep enough masks. We sent them six masks we had on hand, and are making a bunch to send later in the week.

I have been contacted by another nursing home needing homemade masks and I will be contacting them soon with their specific needs. The requests seem to keep coming in.

If anyone would like to help with this project you can either contact me, Alice Garret, at garrett@wi.adventist.org, or call 608-345-3883, or you can check with your local nursing facility and make the kind they prefer.

If you need a pattern, I can provide you with one, or you can join our Wisconsin Mask Makers Sew Facebook page created by Georgia Rosen.

Thank you to all the dedicated people that have been making masks and donating their time! Their efforts are greatly appreciated.

I would love to hear what is going on in your church to help out during this pandemic. Feel free to contact me at any time.
