Attention All Church Food Pantries and Willing Volunteers

Attention All Church Food Pantries and Willing Volunteers

Two important opportunities for community services have developed during this COVID-19 crisis. Look these both over and see if you can get involved.

1. If your church has a food shelf or pantry and you are actively donating food to people in need during this COVID-19 crises, please contact me, Alice Garrett. The NAD is offering a grant to each conference to help defray some of the expense incurred for the increase of food distribution during COVID-19. This grant is to be distributed to our church food shelves involved. This is a generous offer and I encourage all of our church food shelves to take advantage of this! You will need to contact me regarding what you are involved in, and I am requesting to have this information by April 20, 2020. You need to apply through me, the ACS Director, and I in turn will apply for the grant.

2. Also, here is a need for volunteers to help package food in the Madison, Milwaukee, and Appleton areas. Second Harvest and Feeding America are very busy packing food and volunteers will be needed to come and help. I am hoping that church members would be able to help with this endeavor. Volunteers would need to supply their own masks and gloves as these places are running low. For more information please email me, agarrett@wi.adventist.org, or call and leave a message at 608-345-3883.

Thank you for donating your God-given time and talents during this pandemic.

Alice Garrett, Adventist Community Service Coordinator
