Fall is a delightful season that comes after Spring and Summer, marked by the leaves changing color. It’s a true pleasure to drive through Wisconsin and enjoy the stunning array of colors.
But the most significant sign that Fall is here is the harvest and the gathering of crops. The previous seasons of preparing the soil, sowing seeds, and caring for the plants or trees culminate in abundance and thanksgiving.
The Bible offers multiple spiritual lessons related to the harvest, connected with the Jewish festivals of Ingathering, Trumpets, Day of Atonement, and Tabernacles. These occasions served as sacred times for repentance, renewal, and thanksgiving.
Jesus invited His disciples to contemplate their role in gathering souls across every generation, and as a symbol of the final harvest of all believers at the end of time.
Many of our churches are part of evangelistic campaigns under the North American Division Initiative, Pentecost 2025. Therefore, we pray, ‘that the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest’ (Matthew 9:38).
