Global Youth Day – Día Mundial de la Juventud
“Haz Presencia en las Ciudades”
El sábado 16 de marzo, 2024, los jóvenes Hispanos de la Conferencia de Wisconsin, se gozaron en la celebración del Día Mundial de la Juventud.
Este magno evento dió comienzo desde el viernes 15 de marzo por la noche, en la iglesia West Milwaukee, con una preparación espiritual muy especial al celebrar la Santa Cena del Señor.
El sábado de mañana, todos los jóvenes se dieron cita en el Hotel Quality Inn del Aeropuerto de Milwaukee para continuar con la celebración. El orador invitado fue el Pr. Ronald Torres, estudiante de Maestría de la Universidad Andrews. En sus mensajes el pastor Torres animó a los jóvenes a cumplir la misión y hacer sentir su presencia en las iglesias locales y de ser posible llegar a ser misioneros del evangelio en otros países.
A las 11:00am del sábado, por dos horas, todos los jóvenes salieron a “Hacer Presencia en las Calles.” Todos, vestidos con la camiseta elaborada para el evento, salieron a las calles de Milwaukee, en grupos, para distribuir revistas El Centinela de puerta en puerta y en los supermercados, otros a regalar flores con versículos de la Biblia a las enfermeras en los hospitales, a cantar himnos cristianos y orar con los residentes de los asilos de ancianos, a limpiar el Wilson Park de Milwaukee, y aun otros grupos fueron a las estaciones de policías y bomberos a agradecer por el trabajo de ellos y su servicio a la comunidad, y otros jóvenes fueron al Burnham Park con carteles que decían: Si amas a Cristo, haz sonar la bocina de tu auto.
Este año tuvimos el privilegio de contar con la presencia del presidente de la Conferencia de Wisconsin el pastor Titus Naftanaila y su esposa Rozina, como también al pastor Zack Payne director de jóvenes.
En resumen: Los jóvenes tuvieron una magna celebración del Dia Mundial de la Juventud e hicieron sentir su presencia en las calles de Milwaukee, WI.
Quiero agradecer a todos los jóvenes por su presencia y participación en las actividades, al grupo musical de jóvenes por su excelente liderazgo en la adoración a través de la música y a la directiva de JAHWI por el excelente trabajo de planificación y ejecución de todas las actividades.
También en el distrito de Eau Claire, Rice Lake y Barron, bajo el liderazgo del pastor José Vargas y su esposa Lourdes, los jóvenes del área se dieron cita en la iglesia de Rice Lake para celebrar a lo grande el Dia Mundial de la juventud.
El invitado especial para la celebración fue el Cantante y predicador Emilio Caldera Jr., quien presento un concierto y alabanzas especiales durante la celebración.
Los jóvenes se gozaron con el mensaje por el pastor Vargas animando a los jóvenes a anunciar, ‘en las ciudades’ la venida de Jesús. Por la tarde el grupo completo de jóvenes salió a las calles para repartir la revista El Centinela y libros cristianos y portando pancartas hicieron oír su voz en las esquinas de las calles de Rice Lake, anunciando la pronta venida de Jesús y animando a los conductores a sonar la bocina de los autos en señal de amar a Jesús.

Global Youth Day – Dia Mundial de la Juventud
“Show Up in the Cities”
On Sabbath, March 16, 2024, the Hispanic youth of the Wisconsin Conference rejoiced in the celebration of Global Youth Day.
This great event began on Friday night, March 15, at the West Milwaukee Seventh-day Adventist church, with a very special spiritual preparation by celebrating the Lord’s Supper together.
On Sabbath morning, all the young people gathered at the Quality Inn Hotel at the Milwaukee Airport to continue the celebration. The guest speaker was pastor Ronald Torres, Master’s Degree student at Andrews University. In his messages, Pastor Torres encouraged young people to fulfill the mission and make their presence felt in local churches and, if possible, become missionaries of the gospel in other countries.
Following the church service, the young people went out to “Make a Presence in the Streets.” Everyone, dressed in their t-shirts made for the event, took to the streets of Milwaukee in groups that headed to different areas: to distribute El Sentinel magazines door to door and in supermarkets, to give flowers with Bible verses to the nurses in the hospitals, to sing Christian hymns and pray with nursing home residents, to clean Milwaukee’s Wilson Park, to the police and fire stations to thank them for their work and service to the community, and to Burnham Park with signs that said: Honk if you love Jesus!
This year we had the privilege of having the President of the Wisconsin Conference, Pastor Titus Naftanaila and his wife Rozina, as well as Pastor Zack Payne, youth director, present at the gathering.
In summary, the young people had a great celebration of Global Youth Day and made their presence felt in the streets of Milwaukee, WI.
I want to thank all the young people for their presence and participation in the activities, the worship team for their excellent leadership in music and the JAHWI board members for the excellent work of planning and executing all the activities.
Also in the Eau Claire, Rice Lake and Barron districts, under the leadership of Pastor José Vargas and his wife Lourdes, the youth of the area gathered at the Rice Lake church to celebrate the Global Youth Day in a big way.
The special guest for the celebration was singer and preacher Emilio Caldera Jr., who presented a concert and special music during the celebration.
The young people enjoyed the message by Pastor Vargas encouraging them to announce, ‘in the cities’, the coming of Jesus. In the afternoon the entire group of young people took to the streets to distribute El Centinela magazine and Christian books and, carrying signs, made their voices heard on the street corners of Rice Lake, announcing the soon coming of Jesus and encouraging drivers to honk their horn as a sign of loving Jesus.
