Tom Michalski Retires After Nearly 21 Years in Pastoral Ministry

After nearly 21 years in pastoral ministry, Pastor Tom Michalski retired from full-time ministry in January of this year. For those who know him however, Pastor Michalski has not stopped working! Since his official retirement, he has been heavily involved in the Building Our Future projects at Camp Wakonda being an integral part of the team overseeing the progress on the improvement projects happening there. He has also continued as Camp Meeting Superintendent helping to ensure our camp meeting runs smoothly.

Pastor Michalski came to Wisconsin as a pastor in 2015 and also served as Conference Evangelist from 2019-2023. He knows personally the power and effectiveness of a personal witness. Back in the 1970’s, after eight years of rubbing shoulders with a variety of Seventh-day Adventist friends who shared Bible truth with him, he began to study the Bible for himself. In 1980 he, and his new bride Melody, were convicted of the truth and became baptized members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. As God continued to lead Pastor Michalski, he felt the call to pastoral ministry and was ordained in 2007. He pastored over 13 years in the Iowa/Missouri Conference before moving to pastor in the Wisconsin Conference. In addition to serving as a pastor and Conference Evangelist, Pastor Michalski also served as an interim pastor for several congregations as well as Conference Stewardship Coordinator for Wisconsin from 2018-2022.

Throughout his ministry, Pastor Michalski focused on evangelism, both clergy and laity and said that his “main work is to help members be involved in soul winning on an individual basis so the local church becomes a center of evangelism.”

Pastor Michalski and his wife have three grown children, Joshua, Caleb, and Keziah. In his new found free time he is looking forward to spending more time with his grandkids and being out in nature enjoying woodworking, gardening, and wilderness canoeing.

We are very thankful for the years of dedicated service that Pastor Michalski as given in Wisconsin. Countless individuals have been led to a relationship with Jesus Christ through the ministry to which he and his wife have dedicated their lives. We wish them all the best as they move into this new phase in life.
