Following are a variety of articles brought to us by our Family Life Ministries Coordinator, Pastor Abraham Swamidass. We hope you enjoy!

No One Should Die Alone. Recently I learned about an organization called, “No One Should Die Alone.”  As their website states, “No One Should Die Alone Foundation is here to help patients cope with their life-limiting illnesses and bring them peace in the knowledge that they are loved and cared for at the end of their lives.” If in your busy schedule you might want to explore volunteering at a local hospice, or perhaps this foundation, I think you will find it a life-transforming experience, both for them and for you.

6 Relationship Resolutions to Make this Year. In IDEAS.TED.COM, Carol Bruess, PhD., writes, “Most of us intuitively know that having close, supportive relationships is important to our general happiness and well-being, and decades of scientific research confirm that human connection not only affects our mental health but is also a key determinant to how long we’ll live and how physically healthy we’ll be during those years.” Even as we come to and of the first quarter of this year it is not too late to practice these six resolutions.

The Gift and Power of Emotional Courage. Psychologist Susan David shares how the way we deal with our emotions shapes everything that matters: our actions, careers, relationships, health, and happiness. In this deeply moving, humorous and potentially life-changing talk, she challenges a culture that prizes positivity over emotional truth and discusses the powerful strategies of emotional agility. You can watch this TEDtalk or read it’s transcript here.

Money Over Marriage?According to a Pew survey, a large majority of American parents are prioritizing work and money for their children over marriage and parenthood. This article by Alysse ElHage & Brad Wilcox for the Institute for Family Studies summarizes the findings from the Pew survey.
