Danielle Lawson Lawrence will be the new English teacher for Wisconsin Academy beginning this coming fall. She graduated with a B.S. in Communication and minor in history from Southwestern Adventist University, then completed her B.S. in English from Viterbo University and earned her Post Baccalaureate Teaching Certificate and Wisconsin state teaching license for grades 6 through 12 in English language arts and social studies. This past fall she completed the remaining credits she needed for the equivalent of a religion minor and also gained endorsements for teaching Bible grades 6 through 12.
Danielle has been teaching at Bethel Junior Academy since 2016, and prior to that assignment, taught for 13 years at Hylandale Satellite School near Rockland.
“God’s verse for me is Jeremiah 29:11,” says, Danielle. “’For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.’ I teach my students that if God calls them somewhere, they need to answer regardless of the where or when.
“I’m always amazed at the way God has lead in my life. It’s as though He takes my hand and says ‘this is the next adventure I have for you. Do you trust Me?’ For me English class goes beyond learning parts of speech and great literature. I have a passion for teaching young people what an awesome responsibility we have to correctly communicate the message of Christ’s love to a desperate world whether by speaking, writing, or listening. I look forward to the opportunity of sharing this passion with my students, co-workers, and church family.”
Danielle and her husband, Andrew, who is a professional floor installer, have a cat named Grrr. In Danielle’s free time she enjoys singing, playing guitar and piano, camping, hiking, dirt biking, writing, wild mushroom hunting, swimming, board games, thrifting, reading, and loves spending time with family.
