Monroe Pathfinders and Church Have Record Breaking Food & Toiletries Drive

For 16 years the Monroe, Wisconsin Pathfinders and church family have led a food and toiletry drive serving the Green County Food Pantry.

On Sabbath afternoon, November 5, 2022, bags supplied by the Monroe Farm and Fleet, were passed out to nearly every home within the Monroe city limits. To each bag was attached a note telling about the drive and giving instructions for pick up.

On the following Sabbath afternoon, November 12, 2022, the Pathfinders, together with their church family, drove around picking up bags full of non-perishable food items and toiletries.

The grand total reached was a record breaking 4,295 pounds! This is 1,445 pounds over last year’s collection!  What a blessing to the community of Monroe!

One special story reminded this church family of the widow and her two mites (Luke 21:2-7).  After picking up the bags in one neighborhood a particular group of church members was impressed to return to that neighborhood once more. Imagine their surprise to see a bag laying out on the lawn of a building to which they had just been! In that bag was one can of soup! The best gift of all!  That individual had given all they could!

The Monroe church family and Pathfinders were reminded that not everyone who received a bag to fill had a full cupboard and that is just the reason for this drive!

Some gifts received were money meant for the Pathfinder Club, and notes of encouragement to the group as a whole.

We hope that you are encouraged and inspired as we move into the season of giving.
